Insights Discovery Workshop

Business success depends more on high-performance teams than ever before, and effective relationships are key to developing a vital, productive team. Self-awareness, in turn, is the foundation for forming effective relationships between all team members, leaders and cohort alike.

What It Is

Insights (TM) is a tested-and-proven system for helping individual team leaders and members become more aware of how their own behaviours and demeanour impacts team members for good, as well as ways in which they might unconsciously be creating obstacles to productivity. At the same time, it helps team leaders and members become more aware of and understanding of other members’ styles, assets, and needs. By taking the training together, teams also form a common language that allows them to communicate more effectively both with each other as well as with internal and external stakeholders.

What It Does

The Insights Discovery Workshop (TM) has three objectives:

  1. Understand yourself – to learn how you may be seen by others, to recognize your strengths and weaknesses and areas for development
  2. Understand others – to recognize your behavioural style and learn how to respond effectively to others’ needs
  3. Adapt and connect – to meet the needs of others by adapting your behaviour as appropriate.

What It Involves

Through a day-long workshop (other formats also available*), participants go through three phases of team development:

  1. Self-examination — exploring personal strengths, weaknesses, preferred communications style, value to the team, and areas for personal and professional development
  2. Team discovery — learning how other team members benefit the team, how they view the world, what their preferred communication styles are, and strategies for improved effective working relationships
  3. Relationship development — equipped with new insights into both personal and colleague styles and team contributions, the team examines how to work with the different behaviour types and develops new strategies to capitalize on personnel strengths in new ways and begin addressing barriers to interpersonal effectiveness in supportive ways.

The workshop experience is positive, engaging and interactive. The Insights model is easy to follow. People relate to it and remember it. The Insights Discovery Workshop (TM) improves the fundamentals needed by any high-performance business team: self-awareness, appreciation for team members’ perspectives and personas, and a common team language.
